The Athletic
full time & full time review.
The Challenge - The Athletic’s flagship women’s soccer franchise, Full Time, produced multiple podcast and video series without a centralized visual system. Producers often recreated recurring graphics for each episode, slowing production and creating inconsistencies across typography, color, and brand expression.
My Approach - I audited 50+ episodes to identify recurring content formats, production needs, and gaps in the existing style guides. I then unified the franchise’s visual identity, refreshed its typography and color palette, and created 35+ reusable assets and templates in Figma and Photoshop for video, social media, and recurring show graphics.

selected creative work.
Sponsorship Campaigns - Designed 10+ branded graphics and animated assets for Modelo, eBay, Target, T. Rowe Price, and BoyleSports, delivering within 24 hours for video content reaching The Athletic’s 321K+ social audience.
YouTube Thumbnail Strategy - Conducted competitive analysis and designed thumbnails for three new YouTube series, helping increase one show’s click-through rate from 2.4% to 3.2%, triple another’s average views from 4.5K to 13K, and achieve a 4.8% average click-through rate for a third.
Social Content Templates - Created reusable carousel templates for The Athletic FC’s breaking news, quotes, and statistics, giving the social team a consistent, flexible format for timely content.
Employee Resource Group Identities - Co-led The Athletic’s first visual identities for its employee resource groups, creating logos adopted across internal communications, presentations, and merchandise for 600+ employees.
takeaways.
At The Athletic, I learned how thoughtful creative systems can improve speed and consistency without sacrificing quality. Working across sponsorship, social, and video challenged me to balance multiple brand identities under tight deadlines and use audience data to make stronger design decisions.
